Birthday Weekend - Miami/Diego?

I’ve talked about this idea casually with a few people over the past couple of months, and I finally wanted to put something a bit more organized together.

I’m planning a birthday/startup launch weekend in Miami, something really casual and fun. Friends coming together, sharing space, good conversations, food, beach time, and just enjoying each other’s company. Think of it less like a formal event and more like an organized group vacation, where I’m helping coordinate a lot of the logistics so people can just show up and enjoy.

I’ve been traveling quite a bit over the past few months, and it feels like a good moment to bring friends together in one place. This weekend isn’t on my exact birthday it’s the weekend after but it felt like the right time to do something intentional and communal.

Originally, I considered hosting this in San Diego. After thinking through travel logistics and costs for people coming from different places, Miami felt like the more accessible and affordable option, especially for flights and overall ease of getting around. Also I think i may fallen in love with miami gradually after coming here 4 times this year.

The current plan is:

• Dates: January 15–19
  (I’ll be in Miami from Thursday the 15th; most activities start Friday evening and run through Monday, with a late Monday checkout.)
• Vibe: relaxed, social, and flexible
• Activities: beach time, city exploration, shared meals, watching the AFCON final together, and generally enjoying Miami as a group.
• Accommodation: a large group Airbnb where we can stay together and spend time as a community

Quick cost overview:
• Everyone handles their own travel to Miami
• Group costs cover a large Airbnb, local transportation, food/snacks, and group meals
• Target is ~$200 per person (with a hard cap of $300)
